All the municipal commissioners are assembled for a meeting with Diirector of Municipal Administration office, Hyderabad. The recently selected Shiva too attended meeting. Kashyap is his senior. He sat beside his senior in the conference hall.

Shiva wonders that kashyap is always smiling and laughing , despite of warnings from the director. Director has banged most of the officers for underperforming. Shiva annoyed for the warnings. At about 1.30 p.m Director sir asked officers to go for lunch.

All the officers were out in the varandah for the lunch.Shiva wished the kashyap, how are you sir . Very fine shiva, wished back with a broad smile. What about you?

Sir,I have joined recently and i have some adjustment problems.i need your clarification. I am feeling tense.i want to know how you can smile , despite of warnings from the director. Kashyap answered that meeting is the only opportunity, where we relax and away from daily routine. Then why we should be dull? You are right sir, said shiva.

Sir , how do you maintain the cool always ? Asked shiva. Kashyap answered that our Director sir use to get the instructions from Government. He and his staff are also under tremendous pressure. Hence, they issue warnings to get the work done. They really don’t have anger on you. After getting the things done, they use to appreciate us. Shiva nodded his head, as a sign of understanding.

Kashyap continued and said these warnings are all part of the job and life. You have to accept it. When you are respected in presence of all the citizens, you don’t question yourself, why do they respect? But , when someone threaten or intimidate or warn, you pose a question why? Why do you remember only negetive happenings?There are thorns behind roses.

If you wouldn’t have been a municipal commissioner, they don’t review YOU, understood shiva.

Kashyap said whether it is a warning or abuse or praise, don’t take it to your heart. Learn to not accept the warning or abuse or intimidation. Be in the path of Buddha. When a women abused the Buddha for asking alms, he did not received the words by showing the example of alms vessel. When you don’t accept the words, a smile will emanate on your face.
Being a young man you must know one thing shiva that you must create a confidence that you can work hard. Such people will be respected. They have more work , but less pressure. He said hope you understood shiva. You should also gain supporters in head office and your office by your work and kindness.

Subsequently, they went to wash room to clean their hands. Shiva thanked the Kashyap for his valuable message. They started to the conference hall. Shiva is now altogether a new person with positive approach and attitude .
