Zakath for women education

I am Srinivas Bonagiri, presently working as Commissioner, Ramagundam Municipal Corporation. I was student of history for long time. As a part of that I have studied Islamic studies. I am from a village with communal harmony. My father had many muslim friends. I worked in Bhainsa as Municipal Commissioner. I had opportunity to work for the wellbeing of the people there. The then chairperson Jabeer Ahmed taught me many things. He gained the faith of Hindhus also, during my tenure.

I observed the obsolute poverty among the muslims there in Bhainsa. I have also seen that many of them came out of poverty , when adequate support was given. I had also seen that many Hindhus and Muslims were friends and partners in business there.

I always thought about the solution to come out of the poverty. Many communities came out of the poverty after imparting education to all their community members from 18th century onwards. In the last 3 decades there has been an emphasis on women education. The communities, which harvested the women reservation have developed leaps and bounds.
I thought that for the overall development of the muslim community, women education plays vital role.
After being posted as Commissioner, Ramagundam Municipal Corporation, I have been invited for the various functions in the Telangana State Minority Residential School. I always envisaged muslim elders to spend Zakat for the women education.

For the people , who don’t understand Zakat I will explain. Zakat is a tax paid by all the Muslims @2.5% on their annual earning, as prophesied by Holy Quran.
I have been observing that many rich people amongst the muslims are donating Zakat for poor people for buying the dresses, food,etc. These are perishable items. There is no long lasting impact on Society. Prophet Muhammad desired to have an egalitarian ssociety. Egalitarian society is only possible with spending on longlasting things like education and it’s related infrastructure.

Hence, I request all Muslims to donate the #zakatforwomeneducation, so as to uplift muslim poor. There is need of exclusive Residential Schools for Muslim Girls for their uplifting.

I feel that for the establishment of an egalitarian society, there shall be contribution from all communities. For the overall development of our country, Hindhus also need to support in one form or other for uplifting the muslim community.

Everyone knows that what we sow,so we reap. If we inculcate the idea of #zakatforwomeneducation, it creates a egalitarian society. I have observed that Jamat members of khammam were known for spreading ideal values in the Muslim community in other places.

Hence, I request all my friends to share this article, discuss and enlighten Muslim rich to donate #zakatforwomeneducation.

మహిళా విద్య కోసం జకాత్ :
నా పేరు శ్రీనివాస్ బోనగిరి. ప్రస్తుతం రామగుండం మునిసిపల్ కార్పొరేషన్ కమిషనర్‌గా పనిచేస్తున్నాను. నేను చాలా కాలం క్రితo “చరిత్ర” సబ్జెక్టు చదువుకున్న విద్యార్థిని. నా అభ్యాసం లో భాగంగా నేను ఇస్లామిక్ అధ్యయనాలు కూడా చదివాను. అలాగే మత సామరస్యo కలిగి ఉన్న గ్రామం నుంచి వచ్చాను. మా నాన్నగారికి చాలా మంది ముస్లిం స్నేహితులు ఉన్నారు.
నేను భైంసా పట్టణం మునిసిపల్ కమిషనర్‌గా పని చేసిన కాలంలో నాటి భైంసా మునిసిపల్ చైర్‌పర్సన్ జబీర్ అహ్మద్ గారు హిందువుల అభిమానాన్ని , విశ్వాసాన్ని చూరగొన్న వ్యక్తి . ఆయన నాకు చాలా విషయాలు నేర్పించారు.
భైంసాలో చాలామంది హిందువులు మరియు ముస్లింలు అక్కడ స్నేహితులుగా మరియు వ్యాపారంలో భాగస్వాములుగా ఉండడం నేను చూశాను. అయితే భైంసాలోని ముస్లింలలో కడుపేదరికాన్ని కూడా నేను గమనించాను. వారిని ఆ పేదరికం నుండి బయటపడటానికి పరిష్కారం గురించి నిరంతరం ఆలోచించాను. తగిన ప్రోత్సాహం, మద్దతు అందిoచినప్పుడు చాలా మంది పేదరికం నుండి బయటపడడం కూడా నేను చూశాను.
అయితే, సమాజంలోని సభ్యులందరికీ విద్యను అందించగలిగిన సమాజాలు పేదరికం నుండి బయటపడ్డాయనడానికి 18 వ శతాబ్దం నుండి కూడా దాఖలాలు ఉన్నాయి. గత మూడు దశాబ్దాలుగా మహిళా విద్యకు ప్రాధాన్యత పెరిగింది. మహిళా రిజర్వేషన్లు ఉపయోగించుకున్న సమాజాలు చాలా వేగంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందాయి. అందుకే ముస్లిం సమాజం యొక్క సమగ్ర అభివృద్ధికి మహిళా విద్య కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తుందని నేను భావిస్తున్నాను.
రామగుండం మునిసిపల్ కార్పొరేషన్ కమిషనర్ గా భాద్యతలు స్వీకరించిన తరువాత, తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర మైనారిటీ ఆశ్రమ పాఠశాలలో వివిధ కార్యక్రమాలకు నేను హాజరయ్యాను. అప్పటి నుండి జకాత్ ద్వారా సమకూరిన సొమ్మును మహిళా విద్య కోసం వెచ్చించాలని ముస్లిం పెద్దలను ఎప్పుడూ కోరుతూనే ఉన్నాను.

జకాత్ అంటే ఏంటో తెలియని వారికి దాని అర్థం, పరమార్ధం వివరిస్తాను. జకాత్ అనేది ఇస్లాం యొక్క ఐదు స్తంభాలలో ఒకటి. ( మిగిలిన నాలుగు విశ్వాసం, ప్రార్థన, రంజాన్ ఉపవాసం, హజ్) . పవిత్ర ఖురాన్ ప్రవచించినట్లు జకాత్ అంటే వ్యక్తి యొక్క నిర్దిష్ట వార్షిక సంపాదన ( నిసాబ్) పై చెల్లించే పన్ను. నిసాబ్‌లో 2.5% జకాత్ చెల్లిoచడం ప్రతి ముస్లిం విధి.

ముస్లింలలో చాలా మంది ధనవంతులు దుస్తులు, ఆహారం మొదలైనవి కొనడానికి పేద ప్రజల కోసం జకాత్ విరాళం ఇస్తుoడడంనేను గమనిస్తున్నాను. ఆహారం , దుస్తులు పాడైపోయే వస్తువులు. వీటి వితరణతో సమాజంపై దీర్ఘకాలిక ప్రభావం ఉండదు.

ముహమ్మద్ ప్రవక్త సమ సమాజాన్ని కోరుకున్నారు. విద్య మరియు దానికిసంబంధించిన మౌళిక సదుపాయాలు కల్పన వంటి దీర్ఘకాలిక ప్రయోజన పనులకు ఖర్చు చేయడం ద్వారా మాత్రమే సమ సమాజం సాధ్యమవుతుంది. ఇప్పుడు ముస్లిం బాలికల అభ్యున్నతి కోసం ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆశ్రమ పాఠశాలలు అవసరం. అందువల్ల ముస్లింల అభ్యున్నతికి ఉపకరించే మహిళా విద్యకు జకాత్ ఇవ్వాలని నేను ముస్లిం లందరినీ అభ్యర్థిస్తున్నాను.

అంతేకాదు , సమ సమాజ స్థాపన కోసం అన్ని వర్గాల ప్రజల సహకారం ఉంటుందని నేను భావిస్తున్నాను. కాబట్టి మన దేశ సమగ్ర అభివృద్ధికి, ముస్లిం సమాజాన్ని ఉద్ధరించడానికి హిందువులు కూడా ఏదో ఒక రూపకంగా మద్దతు తెలపాలి.

ఏ విత్తనం వేస్తే ఆ చెట్టే మొలుస్తుంది. మనం “మహిళా విద్య కోసం జకాత్ “అనే ఆలోచనను ప్రేరేపిస్తే, అది సమ సమాజాన్ని సృష్టిస్తుంది.

ఖమ్మం నగరం లోని జమాత్ సభ్యులు ముస్లిం సమాజంలో ఆదర్శ విలువలను ఇతర ప్రదేశాలలో వ్యాప్తి చేయడం లో ప్రసిద్దులు. ఇది నేను అక్కడ మున్సిపల్ కమీషనర్ గా పని చేసిన కాలoలో గమనించాను.
కాబట్టి నా స్నేహితులందరూ ఈ కథనాన్ని ఇతరులతో పంచుకోవడంతో పాటు ముస్లిం ధనికులతో చర్చించి వారిలో “మహిళా విద్య కోసం జకాత్ “విషయం పట్ల సానుకూలత వచ్చి అందుకోసం ఆ సొమ్ము వెచ్చించేలా అవగాహన కల్పించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను.
